Online dating for the BDSM community has a new home and it’s on prime real estate at Fetish.com. When the guys over there contacted me wanting to featuring me in an article called Our Top Erotic Art & Alternative Businesses in the UK I was flattered and also a little awestruck by their domain name; what they’ve built there makes perfect use of it though, as you will not only find a massive amount of information for fetishists and BDSM purveyors – newcomers and experts alike – but also an amazing resource for people hoping to find their kinky soulmate via an online dating channel.
I wrote a blog post about Fetish Social Networking sometime ago… back in its early days Fetlife.com was the place to be. The connections I made there were with likeminded people that I’d suss out ‘virtually’ before meeting them in real life. My bull shit detector is fairly sensitive and so, with that in place, I was able to get to know other members reasonably well through their online behaviour; the way they interacted with others through online forums and in chat rooms and furthermore through private messaging. I’d note who their friends were and whether they were actually known by others in real life. I also attended events with a bunch of people, organised to meet for drinks in groups and I always had an escape route! Grateful to say, the friends I made there are some of the best I’ve ever had and, remain so to this day.
So, what do I have to say about Fetish.com? The sign up was relatively simple which for me is a big plus. I like the bold design of the website and I particularly like their use of unique fetish photography. So often I see the same old photos used on new websites that are available in the fetish category of Shutterstock.com – boring!
After a week or two of joining I logged back in today to see that I’d had 100 members check me out, 60+ 5 star ratings, 2 spanks and 6 messages. Sadly the one liner trend seems to have carried over from Twitter, but hi all the same, to Wayne in the sexy red slip.
I’m totally impressed by their community area.
